Kim Chang-son (김창선) is a North Korean politician. He’s the security chief of Kim Jong Un.
Career
Kim Chang-son was born in 1944 in Myongchon County, North Hamgyong Province. He studied Russian and Soviet Studies at Kim Il-sung University. In 1970, he was appointed deputy military attaché at the embassy of North Korea in Moscow. In 1974 he returned to the DPRK and was appointed to a senior position in the MPAF External Affairs Bureau, and in 1980 he was appointed deputy director of the bureau. In 1982 he became deputy director-general of the MPAF
Later in the 80’s he worked in the WPK. In 1993, he was nominated as a deputy director of the OGD WPK. In 2012, he joined the NDC, where he worked as a director. As of now he’s responsible for security issues toward Kim Jong Un. He participated to the Kim-Trump summit in Singapore, supervising security issues.
Private life
He married twice. His first wife Ryu Chun Ok passed away in 1989. She was a drinking buddy of Kim Kyong Hui, the aunt of Kim Jong Il. She passed away in 1989. Kim Chang Son remarried in 1990. He has two children, both completed a degree at the Kim Il Sung University.
